Sever’s disease is not exactly a disease as such, it would be best described and known as a ‘growing pain’. The pain the back of bone that make up the heel (calcaneus). As children go through ‘growth spurts’ the tendon which inserts at the back of the heel (the achilles tendon) pulls at its attachment to the calcaneus. Typically seen in children and adolescents.
